Breast Augmentation - Should You Use Implants Or Fat Transfers?

Breast Augmentation Is what people call “boob job” in slang. It is a surgical procedure done to increase breast size. Some of the reasons why people undergo this procedure are to improve their appearance and even out the size of their breasts.

This surgery can involve either breast implants or fat transfer. Implants are usually recommended for those who want to increase their breast’s size by more than half to one cup size. Using implants is cost-effective as they last a long time—in between 15 to 20 years. On the other hand, fat transfer is good for people who want to both remove fat in one area and enhance another area. This technique gives the patient subtler changes and thus, is also recommended for those who want to even out their breast’s sizes. Both treatments can also be done at the same time, allowing the transferred fat to further enhance the shape.

Post-surgery, the type of breast augmentation procedure you will get will impact the pain you are going to manage, the frequency of checkups you will have, and the caution you are going to practice so problems can be avoided. Soreness and swelling is normal a few weeks after the surgery. Bruising is possible also.

While healing, wearing a sports bra or a compression bandage may be recommended to support the positioning of implants. Any strenuous activity that can make your blood pressure rise should be avoided. Patients must also remember that their breasts will be sensitive to physical contact or jarring movements.

While breast augmentation can improve the size of breasts, please keep in mind that it does not correct severely drooping breasts. Your PAPRAS surgeon can suggest a different procedure for such a concern. To learn more about the right treatment for you, consult with any PAPRAS accredited surgeon.
