Both arm and thigh lift are cosmetic procedures, which involve the removal of excess skin to firm up loose skin on the specific limb. This procedure helps create a more youthful and tighter appearance.

For an arm lift, our expert PAPRAS surgeons will typically make an incision either under the upper or the back of the arm, an area where scarring is more unnoticeable. Although an outpatient procedure, which typically takes anywhere from 2-4 hours, recovery period can take anywhere from six weeks to one year, for the area to heal completely.

Similarly, for a thigh lift, the area of the cut is typically made within the upper and inner thigh. Ahead of the procedure, your PAPRAS surgeon may conduct a Liposuction before, during, or after your thigh lift.

Preparation

Ahead of the surgery, it is highly advisable that patients:

  • Have a realistic set of expectations for what this procedure can accomplish.

  • Are physically healthy and have no underlying medical condition/s, which can impact healing or increase risks of complications during surgery

Healing and Recovery

Though an outpatient procedure, both arm and thigh lifts involve major surgery, and as such, it is followed by an extensive recovery period. During this time, we recommend our patients to rest and take it easy to prevent swelling or complications.

Patients can expect swelling for the first two weeks, and bandages may be required by your surgeon for up to six weeks, until the swelling subsides.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Following health and safety guidelines, your plastic surgeon may advise you to provide thorough information on your medical history. In this time of COVID-19, an arm/thigh lift is considered a high-risk procedure and requires a negative PCR swab result prior to surgery.
